It's a fine playing and sounding SG, more bright sounding than the Gibson, and a slimmer neck width and profile. For reference, we're a 9-piece with FOUR lead vocalists, 2 guitars, and a heavy hitting drummer. The cons of phantom power , polarity and pads are not a major concern, but not being able to imprint EQ and Compression, while not a deal breaker is a little " one step forward, two back".I'm on the market for a new amp, for those sweet 60s clean to edge of breakup sounds. I like the Tim best, and the V3 second best-it's smoother in high gain mode and pretty spot on to the original in low gain mode. The MXR sounded the same, but not quite as smooth or as flexible. The Gear Page Shop Lighter is only better if you have a physical condition, like back or shoulder issues and just can't handle the extra weight, imho. Personally, weight isn't even something I consider when looking for a guitar. If it's 5 lbs or 11 lbs, I don't care, as long as it sounds and plays good.

The Deluxe Reverb is excellent (Oxford Speaker with some really nice mic choices). It immediately works easily with the HX Deluxes. Quickly 'grab' an SM7 and 121 or 421 and 160 and get a great tone. The Coles and the Shure SMS313 are special. The 414 is super flat and easy to use.
