I just purchased the game Bigfoot from Steam and wanted to sharpen its image. I went to the Nvidia Control Panel and activated image sharpening. It now looks horrible. I went to change it back to how it was before but now, even though I turned image sharpening off, it clearly still looks horrible and won't revert back to its default look.

In recent r496 drivers the new image scaling algorithm replaced the old sharpening/ifg algorithm. Some form of ifg could return in the near future. Although Nvidia sharpening w/ifg has also been available in ReShade and GeForce Experience for a long time now, and in the case of ReShade probably even worked with AMD cards.
