Fox and Racetech are both good, simple, well performing. Fox being more pricey than Racetech tho. There are old industry standards like Progressive and Bitubo. There are also plenty of others in the same price range of parts, Luke Drag Specialties shocks.They're good, hard working parts, but not as much adjustability.

After a 200 mile day, I got home, ran a 15-mile loop by my house that's a shock-punisher, whipped the jack out, and put the Ohlins back on. Then I did it again. Same bike, same rider, same day, just 10 minutes later. The Ohlins, between the extra 5/8" stroke and what is clearly better damping are the better shock on lousy roads.The ride with the 440 was better than stock until they went bad and the 444 is at least as good, maybe better. In mean time I purchased a new 2015 FLHTCU Ultra Classic. The ride of the Ultra with factory air shocks is quite a bit better than the Custom with Progressive shocks. A couple of weeks ago I bought a pair of 13" Ohlins HD 159 shocks.There's headshake everytime I drive out of a corner or coming down after catching a little air at the track. I was going to go with Ohlins at first, however, it's $375 vs. $267 for the Bitubo at SBU. IIRC, the Ohlins is a standard body and the spring is selected for your weight when you order the shock. Individual shops may elect to adjust the valving on the Ohlins but that is not a factory option.
