Bought a used 1590 notill drill that has a half-speed attachment instead of the standard drive sprockets. This drill is 15 ft. and has 7 1/2 inch row spacings. Will be using it for notilling wheat----was wondering if anyone can tell me what setting I would need in order to put on 110-120 lbs an acre.Alfalfa seed is very small compared to oats, wheat, and granulated fertilizer that you would use with your large box. On john deeres web site you can down load the owners manual. We have a 1590, and find the seed charts are not right. They are lower in seed then they say, so we sent ours using the scale. You can go to a 12mm bolt I believe is the size and it will fix it for 4-5000 acres, then its about time for new boots again.If alot, that would mean the bushings at the opener arm are worn and the boot/blade will not track properly and have a harder time creating a seed slot correctly. I'm not familiar with a 750 drill or how the rubber seed tube attaches but I'd try to find a short piece of pipe that would insert into what is left of the seed cup and use a hose clamp to clamp it to the remaining half.
