Because of the way the barrel mates with the end of the mag tube, longer magazines aren't really practical so the SOS was a pistol grip version with the barrel cut off even with the end of the mag tube.

I have a 1977 model 37 Ithaca ducks unlimited 12 ga. 2 and 3/4 inch with a 30 in. full choke barrel. I would like to use a shorter barrel with IC for duck hunting. should i get a gunsmith to cut barrel and put in changeable chokes, or purchase a new or used barrel. From what ive read, not all model 37 barrels will fit this gun, is this correct?
