Not all injuries in Project Zomboid can simply be bandaged up. Wounds can either be surface-level, like a scratch, or something deeper, like a laceration and deep cut.

An infected wound is not a zombie infection. You wont get a zombie infection from scratching your legs over concrete. You will get sick from a bacterial infection if untreated. However any wounds from a zombie has a chance to give you a zombie infection. Said wound then can have a bacterial infection. They're separate.
