The 1911 has 3 different length triggers avaliable, as well as 2 different main spring housings, (arched or flat) and different width grips, all on these can be used the custom fit the gun to your hand and trigger finger length. The Equalizer has none of this.

I recently purchased the 380 Easy Performance Center, after putting thousands of rounds through the standard model 380 EZ. I wanted greater accuracy thinking that the performance model would deliver. It didn’t.

He said the only ammo it liked was a lower grain wadcutter, shooting typical ball it was terrible. Having seen him shoot consistant 2.5 inch groups at 50 yards, it had me wondering. From what I have been reading on these and other forums, the 25-2 was a great gun and very accurate too, but I haven't seen much mentioned about the ammo used.Yes and Yes. Standard carbine buffer is fine. In particular, the pistol length gas system with a 16in barrel is best for shooting subsonic ammo. If you do much switching between subs and full velocity ammo you might want to consider and adjustable gas block. Enjoy your new upper.

It appears to have been refinished but not by S&W at some point. A good cleaning and treatment for any rusting and it should make a good shooter.
