Re: What is a safe district in Paris for quiet couple. Yes, that area of the 9th is not the best. For a first-time visitor, I would say that virtually anywhere in the 3rd to 7th arrondissements is safe and civilised. Some parts of the 4th and 5th can get quite crowded with tourists, but not rowdy.
