Time for a Costco run. Thanks for the info. on the An Oa. A great bottle. I think I have that smoker, too, but believe I bought it with the Ardbeg TEN a while back. I am still waiting for the Kirkland Islay to hit and also the Kirland Bourbon should be hitting soon. The Kirkland Islay is around 40 for a 750 that is 50% ABV.

We get a few non-Kirkland scotches but not many (and when we got the Kirkland Islay Single Malt, it sold out in a few weeks - so some of the customers around here have taste). I know I don't live in a super affluent area but I would personally buy a 25 year old Laphroaig from Costco in a heartbeat were it available.

I purchased it for myself and some presents for friends. As I'm sure many will say the Kirkland Islay is a very reliable peat bomb. Great in so many ways. The Speyside can be hit or miss. Often times they are just Sherry bombs. This is nice but I do appreciate more flavor notes. Never tried so young from Kirkland (via A. Murray).The smoky character on their whiskies always reminds me of burning paper (while Caol Ila, Lagavulin and Ardbeg remind me of a campfire and Laphroaig makes me think of a cigarette).
