Inferium seeds.
You don't get extra seeds from normal farmland, or red fertilized farmland. You can only get those from botany pots or planting the seeds on Mystical Agriculture farmland. The higher tier farmland you use, the greater chance you have of getting excess drops.
I used Deep Mob Learning to get my first 8 essence. After that, harvesting the seed sometimes yields an extra seed, which can be uncrafted to give back the essence it's made of. If you want to utterly cheese mystical agriculture, four uncrafted inferium seeds produces enough essence to get your inferium seed to the next tier. I've already gotten tier 3 10/10/10 inferium seeds (only tier 3 because i didnt have enough inferium at the time), and so far I only know of 1 way to make the growth ludicrously fast. Are you sure they are inferium seeds and not crafting seeds? I've seen a few people try planting crafting seeds instead of inferium seeds. Which pack are you playing and does it have agricraft? If so you'll have to use crop sticks. If not than, I'm honestly not sure why it's not working.
