Enabling Bridge mode will turn the Xfinity modem in a simple gateway and it will no longer function as a router/wi-fi hotspot. I would suggest buying your own Xfinity compatible modem (save $10 a month on your bill) or calling Xfinity/Comcast and ask them to enable bridge mode on the modem for you. They should do it without much hassle.

Too bad i now need 2 boxes instead of one, due to the fact Arris gives no way to disable SIP/ALG. To use the XB7 outside of bridge mode I would need to set all of my address assignments by hand through the clunky web GUI. Many of my devices - cameras in particular - need stable IP addresses to function. In bridge mode, the XB7 turns off multi-gigabit operation, which is mildly annoying.
