Dex honestly is the wrong match for melee horizen walker imo if you want to maximize. The subclass bonus action is amazing and that eating every bonus action makes two weapon fighting melee impossible so you are heavily handicapped going dex. Horizon Walker goes great with Moon Druid for several reasons. First of all, almost all your Archetype features can be used while in Wildshape form. Planar Warrior, Ethereal Step, Distant Strike, Spectral Defense. You can't use all your bonus HW spells while wildshaped but you can cast Haste and then wildshape so that you have a hasted beast form.

After Ranger 5/Fighter 4, the remaining levels can be taken in Ranger if you don't want to optimize too much.
