Mar 2, 2024 · I would have ranked this optic a 5 star optic, but there is a MAJOR design flaw in it. In order to save battery, Swampfox states "In very low light conditions Sentinel-A’s dot will become very difficult or impossible to see." I agree with their assessment, I cannot pickup the dot at all in low light settings.

Our Sentinel optic uses the RMSc footprint. This allows more compact concealed carry oriented pistols to gain the benefits of a Red Dot optic vs traditional iron sights. Some of the pistols that are Sentinel ready out of the box are: Walther PPS RMS.
While it is a relatively easy shooting pistol, the Springfield Armory Hellcat is a subcompact 9mm. With +P 9mm ammunition, the recoil can be a bit snappy. Even so, the Sentinel soaked up every cycle of the slide with no obvious issues. The glass showed no signs of weakness, nor did the dot lose zero.
