It would be if that were a Marlin. I think this is what he has a Revalation 205. Look at a 336 it has the trigger safety block that prevents firing unless the lever is closed. It would be between the serial number and the trigger on OP's rifle. BTW 1 sold on Hi-Bid this spring for $600.
