Engine suddenly locked, needs replacing. My 2013 Kia optima lx's engine locked without warning last week. It has 118k miles. I had a new battery installed 2 months ago, new front brake pads/rotors, oil change and tire rotation early last week prior to the engine lock. I think it has the KDS warranty (not sure what this is, or if it matters.

The locking mechanism (connected to the latch by one mechanical wire) seemed to be working fine. The release lever tends to go next to the lock pawl rather than stay on top of it causing the latch to stay locked.
