That said my greater jungle claws came out at 20 with 28+ strength and 8-11k health. But I think I got extremely good luck with them. My greater bears aren't coming out as nice as the jungle claws. In fact I feel they were a waste of fish and honey. I haven't leveled my greater sabertooth yet. After 14 cubs I've only gotten one.

There are certain foods that can be given to pets to increase your chance. Further, in a certain dungeon you can get a special flower to also increase the chance for a greater pet.

Pretty much for any pet or thrall you are going to have to choose a food that boosts Vit and Str. For archers I would def do like lvl 0-10 accuracy boost food then 10-20 do Vit. 3.
