IMO .. . the new TSB repair is more time consuming than just replacing the whole shifter. GM should perhaps have dealers send the shifter core back to have the new parts retro fitted at a facility. Without a doubt more time consuming. Prior versions of the TSB paid .6 hours of labor for the repair on an Acadia.

Automatic transmission. 54,000 miles. Our 2018 Acadia SLT1 has a known issue with the park shift message that won't let me turn off the car. GMC dealer, Coulter Cad/GMC, made the repair in 7/2019 and now 4/2021, 20K miles later, the same problem and they tell me the work they performed isn't guaranteed.

It will say Shift to Park when I am already in park. It’s been to the dealer for it and they said I had a screw loose or missing for the battery cable junction box and they replaced the screw/bolt.
