The flamer mod itself doesn't trigger fire damage, it's the capacitor mod that triggers the fire damage. It only works with the flamer if you add a mod that adds fire damage. The Flamer mod itself only deals ballistic and energy damage. You need a Beta Wave capacitor mod to add fire damage. The wiki is wrong on this. Aligned for vats. True for hip fire. Since yours is ari/hit so i suggest dont turn it into flamer, put a sniper barrel or keep it auto (auto barrel mod box is not available). Or keep rolling until you get Anti-Armor/50c or bloodied/50c and use Aligned Flamer. Use VATS crit and enjoy to see Earle melts :)
