Difference between glock 30 and 30s.

Two very good pistols IMO. My G30 has been the most accurate Glock I've owned, but it is a brick. The Shield 45 is equally accurate and has been perfect through nearly 2k rounds. Both are fun to shoot and handle recoil well (the Shield surprisingly well for its size). I know the 30 is a sweet shooter in a small package, but it is fairly hefty. All that heft does absorb recoil though. The 30s is thinner in the slide and obviously a lighter gun. The penalty there is more recoil.

I like the G36, but never could see much advantage in using a thick frame with a thin slide; the pistol is only as thin as it's thickest part.

Posted February 27, 2015 at 11:50 PM. I carry a Gen 4 30. Overall width is the same. The slide is thinner on the 30S, but the widest part is the frame and they are the same width for both. I went with the 30 because the extra weight in the slide makes the recoil more managable and followup shots quicker. The 30s is 4oz lighter.
